The BCI Good Practice Guidelines Training Course has been revised to ensure that all the methodologies taught in this course are fully aligned to the Good Practice Guidelines (GPG) 2018, the independent body of knowledge for good Business Continuity (BC) practice, which was released in March 2018 by the Business Continuity Institute (BCI), the leading global membership organization for Business Continuity professionals.

This course has been designed for those business continuity professionals who are required to undertake a Business Impact Analysis in their organization and are looking to enhance their skills and technique for this essential component of an organization’s Business Continuity Programme. Business Impact Analysis (BIA) is an essential component of any organization’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP). Without it, the whole plan could fall over, jeopardizing the continuity and indeed survival of the whole business.

This course is a basic introduction to the world of Business Continuity (BC). It is designed as a first step for newcomers to the subject of BC and for those for whom BC may be a part of their role or responsibilities who need to have a good understanding of the subject. It provides the beginner with the basic knowledge and understanding of the building blocks required for developing or maintaining a robust Business Continuity Management Program and gives those individuals with a BC related role or responsibility a comprehensive overview of the discipline. This course covers all six elements of the BCM Lifecycle and is based on global good practice as described in the Business Continuity Institute’s Good Practice Guidelines and the international standard for Business Continuity ISO 22301.

2 Day BCI Supply Chain Resilience Course

The course is designed for those business continuity professionals who are looking specifically to further develop their skills in supply chain business continuity. This course will also benefit those professionals who are responsible for purchasing, supply chain management, contract management and procurement. This course builds on the results of the BCI’s annual Supply Chain Resilience Survey to ensure that its content remains up-to-date and relevant and that it continues to address the supply chain issues that are applicable to organizations based on current trends and developments.

This course aims to give individuals an understanding of supply chain risks, including the identification of risks in the supply chain as well as how to identify key suppliers. It offers up different strategies and approaches to mitigate risks in the supply chain, including the integration of business continuity into supply chain risk management in order to achieve supply chain resilience. Individuals will be set the task of undertaking a Supply Chain Mapping exercise for one of their suppliers with a view to identifying risks as well as gaining some practical insights on how to identify key suppliers in their supply chain.
