The BCI Good Practice Guidelines Training Course has been revised to ensure that all the methodologies taught in this course are fully aligned to the Good Practice Guidelines (GPG) 2018, the independent body of knowledge for good Business Continuity (BC) practice, which was released in March 2018 by the Business Continuity Institute (BCI), the leading global membership organization for Business Continuity professionals.
Based on current global thinking in BC, the course has also been aligned to ISO 22301:2012, the new international standard for Business Continuity Management (BCM) to ensure its international relevance and global applicability. The course offers a solid description of the methods, techniques and approaches used by BC professionals worldwide to develop, implement and maintain an effective BCM programme, as described in GPG 2018.
This training course is intended to meet the current and future technical and professional needs of BC professionals working in organizations of any type and size, in any industry or sector worldwide.
This course has been designed for those business continuity professionals who are required to undertake a Business Impact Analysis in their organization and are looking to enhance their skills and technique for this essential component of an organization’s Business Continuity Programme. Business Impact Analysis (BIA) is an essential component of any organization’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP). Without it, the whole plan could fall over, jeopardizing the continuity and indeed survival of the whole business.
Success for any BCM project is contingent on gaining a thorough understanding of the organization. This course will take the participants through the steps required to develop a complete understanding of the Business Impact Analysis process, and the critical steps required to thoroughly understand the nature and requirements of an organization.
Understanding the business is critical if one is to be able to perform the in-depth analysis required to properly document the critical timelines and continuity requirements necessary to ensure that the BCP team is prepared to adequately address each BCP and DRP phase and will lead to a successful BCP project. The training is a combination of classroom lectures, discussions, simulation exercise, videos and a role play. This workshop offers a high- paced, structured, eye-opening and comprehensive learning experience.
This course is designed for those business continuity professionals who have been tasked with developing, managing and maintaining an exercise programme within their organization.
The success of any Business Continuity Management Programme depends entirely on organisational capability to respond effectively when an incident occurs. Exercising ensures the Business Continuity Plan(s) remain up to date and relevant; and ensures that those people involved in the response and recovery process, know and understand what is expected of them.
This course equips the business continuity professional with the tools, skills and knowledge required to develop, manage and maintain a programme of exercises that can be used to validate the effectiveness of the Business Continuity Plan. The training is a combination of classroom lectures, discussions, simulation exercise, videos and a role play. This workshop offers a high- paced, structured, eye-opening and comprehensive learning experience.
